The popular Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta is a charming centuries old community that gets its name from the well known intersection of Virginia and Highland Avenue. Sometimes known as “The Highlands” or “Va-Hi,” Virginia Highland is bordered by the Morningside neighborhood to the north and Midtown Atlanta/ Piedmont Park to the west. The close proximity to both Piedmont Park and Midtown Atlanta make the VaHi neighborhood a go-to community for those looking to live in-town but not in a totally urban setting. Aside from being close to Piedmont Park other nearby attractions include the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Druid Hills Country Club, Candler Park and the Ansley Golf Club.
The Virginia Highland neighborhood has one of the Atlanta’s most sought after secondary business districts. The Virginia Highland business district spans from North Highland Avenue from University to Ponce de Leon and continuing south into the Poncey-Highland and Inman Park neighborhoods. The businesses offered include top rated restaurants, trendy boutiques, coffee shops, art galleries and a lot more….
Perhaps the best part of the Va-Hi neighborhood is the active Virginia-Highland Civic Association that meets monthly to discuss matters pertaining to the area. This tight-knit group of home owners makes choosing Virginia Highland a no brainer when comparing Atlanta’s in-town neighborhoods.
